yeah, I think tilde is very much focused on making their own hierarchy

yeah, I think tilde is very much focused on making their own hierarchy
(limited to tildes)

The list contains several NNTP servers that only carry their own groups,
e.g. Feedbase, so why is this a topic for the one of the Tildeverse
only?

Sometimes the Tildes look dead, then a flurry of activity happens for a
day or two, then they seem to take another nap. It's quite chill.

2023. But you (then known as "Syber Shock") ignored my post then so
I guess they're deliberate omissions?

A couple seem ok.

Only testing the known full(ish) feed servers
(it tests for a specific article in n.a.p. as that indicates a high
likelihood of being a full feed, the script doesnt try any AUTH, just
plain read access as a guide)

This has been suggested to me in the past. I find no information about
a free Usenet server there, and I'm not investigating any further. If
anyone has a link to a page that shows registration for POST access
I'll look but I am not hunting around for anything.

Neodome once had reader POST access. Since they cancelled reader posting
there is no use advertising them. The remailer users already know about
neodome and there is no point listing them since they don't offer
anything unique.

I could maintain a bottom section for read-only access, but then that
would open up the gates for listing a bunch of old, useless read-only
servers, which I don't want to spend time tracking and testing because
there is no benefit to anyone.

Nitpick:

grc.* is not distributed outside of GRC, therefore it isn't part of
Usenet. grc.* is a local hierarchy for GRC's own groups alone that

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Valiantfox does not
trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for
rocksolid.sybershock.com. The certificate is only valid for
lamp.nightbulb.net.

I am performing a review of the free NNTP server list located
at https://sybershock.com/#usenet. I have re-formatted the list and
provided it in this article. Please review this NNTP server listing for
errors or omissions.

Read-Only NNTP without registration.

Most Big8 groups (courtesy of Paganini and End Of The Line). Also have a
set of Linux Kernel mailing lists that I feed locally once an hour from
the public-inbox GIT repos. No binary groups (I do not have the disks,
nor the appropriate HBAs, for that).
